Equiom, a provider of multi-jurisdictional investment and asset protection solutions, has launched Equiom Fund Solutions (Ireland), a ‘super management company (ManCo)’ for fund managers.
The ManCo offers both alternative investment fund managers directive (AIFMD) and UCITS solutions for regulated funds looking to raise capital from investors in the EU.
The team is led by Kevin Bardon, who joins from Deutsche Bank where he led its Irish super ManCo platform since 2017.
With 30 years of experience in the funds industry, Bardon has held senior positions at Citco and State Street and has worked across the UK, US, Germany and Ireland.
His background experience includes product governance, audit, risk, compliance and operations.
Bardon is joined by investment management and governance professionals Veronica Morrissey and Stephen O’Sullivan, with more hires in train to be announced during 2021.
Equiom’s CEO Mark Porter commented: “Expanding our Dublin office represents a strategic investment into our institutional fund solutions capability. Our focus is on providing fund governance, risk and compliance solutions to asset managers and private clients in onshore and offshore global financial centres.”
Bardon, added: “I am very excited to be part of Equiom’s continued expansion into the funds governance sector. The timing is excellent on the back of a number of major industry influencing factors including the Central Bank’s publication of the thematic review of fund management companies, Brexit and the continued growth of the funds industry in Ireland.”
“The transaction will enable us to leverage Equiom’s global network and offer European fund management solutions to clients. These are very exciting times for Equiom to be consolidating its position in the funds market,” added Bardon.
