BNY Mellon has been selected by Achmea Investment Management to provide AIFMD fund depositary and global custody services for investment funds with combined assets under management of close to €19 billion.

This deepens the post trade relationship between the two companies, where BNY Mellon already provides depositary and fund administration services to a number of Achmea IM’s investment funds.

Commenting on the extension of the firms’ relationship, Jacob de Wit, CEO of Achmea IM, says: “We have a good cultural and personal fit with BNY Mellon’s team and organisation in the Netherlands. We look forward to growing a relationship based on our shared commitment to investor outcomes and service excellence.”

Leonique van Houwelingen, head of strategic growth and regional head of client coverage for asset servicing, EMEA, BNY Mellon, adds: “Our aim is to deliver digital custody and data solutions that enable seamless integration across the funds’ investment lifecycle, underpinned by a resilient, transparent and efficient operating model that enables Achmea IM to focus on managing assets and servicing their customer base.”

“This significant appointment is testament to the quality of our services, technology and our well-established team in the Netherlands,” she concludes.
