BNY Mellon SA/NV (the European Bank) has opened a new branch in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The branch in Copenhagen will provide support for existing and prospective clients seeking access to BNY Mellon’s global capabilities and solutions.

The offering will include asset servicing and ancillary services, corporate trust, markets and clearing and collateral management services.

Søren Eberhard established the Copenhagen representative office in 2008 and will become the branch manager.

Eberhard has 35 years of experience in investment services and general management in international companies.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2005, he worked at Danske Bank A/S where he was global head of securities services.

The European Bank has offices in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands and works with asset managers, insurance companies, financial institutions, pension funds and other clients throughout Europe.

Leonique van Houwelingen, CEO of the European Bank, said: “We have been conducting business in this region for more than a century and the opening of our newest European Bank branch is yet another step in our ambitious international growth strategy.”

“Our partnerships in Denmark and the wider Nordics are deep and enduring and we have the breadth of experience and the technological infrastructure to meet the needs of large, sophisticated pension schemes and other asset owners and managers in the region,” Houwelingen added.
