Sustainable governance partner CACEIS has launched the CACEIS Academy, an online educational platform for UK fund boards and pension scheme trustees.
The platform grants users access to all of CACEIS’ educational material. This includes a series of training modules, run by subject matter experts in areas such as cyber security, custody, and digital assets.
CACEIS’ commitments to ESG and climate considerations will also form a part of the platform. Along with training, users will be able to listen to CACEIS’ ‘The Climate Briefing’ podcast series, and engage with governance webinars.
The academy comes in response to CACEIS research which found that 72 per cent of those in the industry stated that climate risk skills shortage is a prominent issue, and that education was vital.
Pat Sharman, country managing director for the UK at CACEIS, says: “As the role of the custodian has expanded rapidly over the last few years, CACEIS has been providing clients with educational support as governance and regulatory requirements continue to evolve. The CACEIS Academy will bring together all our educational support for trustees and fund boards in one place.”
She added: “The CACEIS Academy is part of our commitment to be facilitators of education across the pensions and asset management sectors in areas such as ESG and climate risk. We think these topics have an important role to play for the industry, for our clients and for society. We also want to address the lack of accessible information which trustee and fund boards face to better understand their portfolios ESG and climate risks.”
