Steven Ruggeri founds Intrepid Advisors

Steven Ruggeri has founded a new outsourced alternatives advisory and investment management firm for the private fund industry, Intrepid Advisors.

Intrepid Advisors takes the place of an investment advisor or sub-advisor for clients, offering strategic advice on fund restructurings, extensions and dispute resolutions.

The firm has been established in response to talent attraction and retention difficulties in the industry, rapidly changing regulation and a competitive economic market, the company says.

The company provides outsourced chief financial officer and chief operating officer services, fund administration, fund formation, fund liquidation, limited partner and transaction advisory services as well as portfolio company support.

Alongside this, investment management services are offered to help general partners and limited partners develop fund extensions and continuation vehicles, and introduce replacement investment advisor or sub-advisor agreements.

Ruggeri, who serves as managing partner, comments: “As an industry veteran of over 20 years I understand the challenges faced by those in the industry because I’ve faced them directly as well. As the industry continues to face pressure of compressing fees while being asked to increase governance and transparency, help is needed now.”
