Brian Moynihan, chair of the board and CEO of the Bank of America, will be the opening keynote speaker for Sibos 2023 in Toronto.
Sibos 2023’s theme is "Collaborative finance in a fragmented world” and will take place from 18 to 21 September both online and in person.
Moynihan has extensive industry experience, having led roles such as chairman of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics Initiative and chair of The Clearing House Association.
He is also co-chair of the Steering Committee of the Council for Inclusive Capitalism and chair of the Sustainable Markets Initiative, founded by King Charles III in his former role as the Prince of Wales.
In addition, Moynihan serves as chair of the Global Diversity and Inclusion Council at Bank of America and is a member of the advisory council for the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
This year’s Sibos aims to address issues such as sustainability and inclusivity in the financial industry.
It will also look at risk management in times of economic and geopolitical uncertainty, and the balance between technology and trust.
Thought leaders from around the world will share insights across areas such as ESG standardisation, cross-border payments, post-trade data, digital currencies and advancing technologies such as AI and machine learning.
Sibos will feature hundreds of expert speakers from across the financial services industry with 180 exhibitors expected to attend.
Jaime Lee, head of Sibos for SWIFT, says: “Brian’s leadership experience and valuable insights on many key themes within the financial industry will provide the perfect catalyst for a week of learning and debate as the Sibos community comes together in Toronto.”
Sibos will feature hundreds of expert speakers from across the financial services industry with an estimated 180 exhibitors in attendance.
