Komainu has been selected by CoinShares as custodian for the CoinShares Valkyrie Bitcoin Fund, following US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval.
The selection solidifies Komainu’s position as a preferred custodian for exchange traded fund (ETF) issuers, the company says, and currently supports ETP providers in the UK, Europe and now the US.
Having recently been chosen as the core custodian for NASDAQ and SIX, the offering of ETP-related custodial services in the US marks the next milestone for the company as it expands internationally.
The selection comes after strict regulatory requirements and approvals by the SEC, Jersey Financial Services Commission, and Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority were met.
