Law joins Northern Trust

Margaret Law has joined the Hong Kong office of Northern Trust as head of client services for its asset servicing business in North Asia except China. She comes to Northern Trust with more than 15 years of experience in financial services, most recently as relationship manager and operations head for Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Hong Kong.

“Margaret Law is an industry veteran who has a wealth of experience serving sophisticated institutional clients, including global asset managers,” said Teresa Parker, chief executive officer of the Asia Pacific region for Northern Trust. “We are pleased to welcome Margaret to our Hong Kong office, where Northern Trust has experienced strong growth in demand for fund administration and other services for government entities as well as investment managers based in the Asia-Pacific region. Margaret’s expertise will be valuable to those clients and strengthen our service offering for both asset managers and institutional investors.”

Before joining Northern Trust, Law was manager of Hong Kong operations for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, overseeing client relations and operations for clients who executed cash equity, fixed income and listed derivatives trades through the brokerage as well as operations support for investment banking in the region. Previously, she was head of fund services sales for HSBC in Hong Kong and held sales and product roles for Citigroup.

“I came to Northern Trust because of its solid reputation in financial services, and the specialisation and focus of its product offering,” Ms. Law said. “I am excited to join the Hong Kong team and contribute to our continued success in North Asia.”
