The Security Trader’s Association’s 81st Annual Market Structure Conference will see top regulators and financial leaders take on critical issues facing the securities industry.

Taking place on the 1-3 October 2014, public- and private-sector leaders will address topics such as market making and intermediation in the 21st century, big data and other challenges for but-side traders, and social media in finance.

"Our speakers and panelists have a direct hand or stake in the evolution of our financial markets, underscoring our theme of 'Together, Building Tomorrow's Markets Today,'" said STA President and CEO, Jim Toes.

"STA's mission here is to continue educating the industry on these critical issues, so that they can be informed participants in changes that have a big impact on our investing clients and our industry."

Speakers at the conference include; Brandon Becker, executive vice president and chief legal officer, TIAA-CREF; Dan Gallagher, SEC commissioner; Richard Ketchum, chairman and CEO of FINRA; and Tom Farley, president of the New York Stock Exchange to name a few.

Special guest speakers will include Freakonomics co-author Stephen Dubner and US Medal of Honour recipient, Colonel Jack Jacobs.
