NN Investment Partners (NN IP) has appointed Yvette Babb as a portfolio manager to strengthen its emerging market debt (EMD) capabilities.
Babb, who has nine years of experience in EMD, joins NN IP from JP Morgan where she was chief economist and strategist sub-saharan Africa.
In her new role, Babb will focus on frontier market analysis and portfolio management with responsibility for both hard currency and local currency.
Babb will work alongside Marco Ruijer, lead portfolio manager of EMD hard currency and lead portfolio manager of frontier market debt, and Lewis Jones, lead portfolio manager of EMD local currency.
According to NN IP, Babb’s appointment will further strengthen the team’s experience in frontier markets.
Marcelo Assalin, head of emerging market debt at NN IP, said: “We are very pleased to appoint Yvette Babb as portfolio manager in our EMD team and welcome her to NN IP.”
He added: “Babb has a wealth of experience in analysing frontier markets. Her appointment emphasises the growing importance of this part of the emerging markets universe, and the role NN IP wants to play in this space. I strongly believe that her background and experience will make her a valuable addition to our EMD team.”
