BNP Paribas has hired Pascal Fischer as head of global markets Asia Pacific (APAC).

Based in Hong Kong, Fischer will report to Eric Raynaud, CEO of APAC and Olivier Osty, head of global markets.

Fischer was most recently head of global markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, based in London.

In July, Fischer replaced Pierre Rousseau, who has taken up a new role as senior strategic advisor on sustainable business, reporting to Yann Gerardin, head of corporate and Institutional Banking and Antoine Sire, head of company engagement.

Raynaud said: “We are pleased to welcome Pascal Fischer to the region, where his global markets expertise will help to position our APAC business for the next phase of growth.”

“Fischer’s strong leadership and strong operational skills will bring extra depth to our governance and risk management whilst continuing to deliver for our clients.”

Osty said: “We look forward to continuing to grow our global franchise with Fischer taking the helm in APAC. His deep knowledge of clients and focus on executional capability will help to improve our network capability.”
