ASX sees value of CHESS holdings increase

The value of securities held in Australian Securities Exchange’s (ASX) CHESS increased 8 percent in March this compared to the previous corresponding period (pcp).

The value of securities increased from 1,904.4 billion in March last year to 2,061.1 billion in the same period this year.

In ASX’s March report it also found that the value of securities held in Austraclear was 5 percent higher than the pcp.

The results also showed that in March this year, total capital raised by ASX was $5.3 billion, down 8 percent on the pcp.

In addition, the average daily number of trades was 27 percent higher than the pcp, while average daily value traded on-market of $5 billion was up 14 percent on the pcp.
