SmartStream Technologies has received certification for level one of payment card industry data security standard (PCI-DSS) version 3.2.1.
As the highest level of certification, this provides reassurance to serve card and digital payments customers, as well as process personal information globally.
The PCI-DSS certification is mandatory for the majority of solutions partners, and has also recognised SmartStream’s transaction lifecycle management platforms for reconciliation and artificial intelligence.
During the process, SmartStream was required to demonstrate satisfactory levels of security across its whole organisation, including fraud control, IT and data security, physical personnel security, and data privacy.
In implementing the certification, the PCI Security Standards Council aims to improve the security of global payment account data, and supports services that promote education and awareness.
Haytham Kaddoura, CEO of SmartStream, commented: “This requirement was driven by our clients and it is now critical and demanded by all financial institutions. It simply gives us the hallmark of trust, which is especially important in these current times, with data security and fraud detection being so high on the corporate agenda”.
