Topper, Uphold’s onramp service, has partnered with dLocal, a cross-border payment platform, with the aim of enhancing financial accessibility across emerging markets.
The collaboration will combine dLocal's payment processing expertise with Uphold's financial platform to offer tailored alternative payment methods (APMs).
APMs are used by 60 to 89 per cent of adults in Latin America. Whilst, just 28 per cent of the same demographic use credit cards.
Robin O'Connell, CEO for Enterprise at Uphold, states: “Enabling our users to access local currencies and offering a variety of payment methods is crucial to our mission of providing accessible financial services to everyone.
“Partnering with an expert as dLocal allows us to break down barriers and offer a seamless, inclusive financial experience to our users in our markets.”
Justo Benetti, senior vice president head of Americas at dLocal, adds: “We are excited to expand our reach and continue offering innovative payment solutions that cater to the diverse needs of users across emerging markets.”
