Northern Trust expands global FX solutions team

Northern Trust has appointed two senior business development executives to its global foreign exchange (FX) solutions practice in North America.The two executives are David Byne and William Harnett, who will be responsible for driving growth across the FX solutions.Based in New York City, Byne brings almost 15 years of FX experience to Northern Trust. Previously, Byne held a number of FX-related positions at Credit Suisse and Citi, as well as others.Hartnett, based in Chicago, has more than a decade of FX experience, serving in various trading and sales roles before transitioning to business development. Prior to Northern Trust, Hartnett served as an FX options trader on the Chicago Board of Trade and at Fifth Third Bank.John Turney, head of global FX at Northern Trust Capital Markets, said: “The global FX market is vastly more complex and sophisticated than it once was, necessitating new processes and tools to remain competitive as an investment manager.”“We have invested heavily in our FX capabilities in recent years to ensure that our clients are equipped with the solutions they need to trade across global markets. The expansion of our business development team underscores our ongoing commitment to expand the breadth and depth of our service offering.”
