Investor services provider IQ-EQ has added John Legrand to its executive leadership team, taking on the role of managing director of the UK and Ireland.
IQ-EQ said that this reflects the strategic significance of IQ-EQ’s growing UK and Ireland business.
Most recently, Legrand was managing director of Asia Pacific (APAC) for BlackRock’s alternative investment software provider, eFront.
Prior to BlackRock, Legrand spent 10 years with BNY Mellon in Singapore and London as managing director for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and APAC.
While at BNY Mellon, Legrand was also head of business development for its APAC asset servicing division.
Additionally, Legrand also worked on BNY Mellon’s APAC executive and operating committees, the Asset Servicing Global Executive Committee, and the boards of multiple companies.
Commenting on his appointment, Legrand said: “IQ-EQ is such a fresh and exciting name in the investor services space and I am thrilled to be joining the firm as it embarks upon the next phase of its growth journey.”
“As a group, we have ambitious plans for the UK and Ireland business and I look forward to working closely with the experienced senior leadership team to realise these plans and help drive the business to even greater success.”
IQ-EQ’s group chief operating officer, Christiaan Van Houtven, added: “Finding the right candidate to lead our UK and Ireland operations was hugely important to us as a group and I am confident that the cluster will go from strength to strength with Legrand at its helm.”
“His combination of leadership skills and fintech expertise makes him ideally suited both to the role and to IQ-EQ’s overarching strategic priorities – given our desire to continue growing the cluster across all of our core service segments while also investing heavily in technology to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Legrand is a great addition to the team and I am delighted to be welcoming him on board.”
