Apex has expanded its Luxembourg team with the appointments of Frederic Bilas, Ramón van Heusden and Kris Allen.

The new hires in Luxembourg bolster the group’s operational, real estate, and client servicing strength, reinforcing the connected structure around its single-source servicing solution.

Reporting to Chris Mulhern, Bilas joins Apex as COO where he will lead local operations across all business segments.

Apex said that Bilas’ broad range of skill sets position him to lead the Apex’s operations in Luxembourg, which include delivering fund services, digital banking and onboarding, depositary, custody foreign exchange, corporate services and super management company solutions.

Prior to Apex, Bilas spent a decade as director of operations at European Fund Administration where he was director of operations and member of the executive committee.

Meanwhile, Van Heusden joins the Luxembourg team as head of real estate where he will report to the newly appointed Michael Sheahan, global head of real estate.

Van Heusden brings 30 years of experience in the fund services space to the role. Most recently, he was senior director of relationship management PERE at TMF Group.

During his career, Van Heusden has held long-term senior roles at Citco and Brown Brothers Harriman.

Lastly, Allen will take on the role as global head of client onboarding, reporting to Srikumar T.E., global head of fund solutions.

Allen joined Apex at the beginning of 2019 as part of the Ipes acquisition, where he had been for six years before becoming head of client onboarding for Luxembourg in March this year.

In his new role, Allen will now manage the global evolution of Apex’s onboarding processes with a focus on a seamless client experience across all three pillars of service: fund solutions, financial solutions and corporate solutions.

Allen brings a decade’s worth of client relationships management and onboarding experience to the role.

Apex’s new hires follow shortly after its digital banking and onboarding platform launch.
