Banking Circle hires former Goldman Sachs senior associate

Banking Circle, a new fully licensed bank built for payments businesses and banks, has bolstered its institutional banking team with the appointment of Dan Wright.

Wright will serve as senior relationship manager and will maintain and cultivate existing client relationships with a view to boost revenue generation.

He will also assist Banking Circle in meeting its ambitious global growth plans, post acquiring its banking license to disrupt the cross-border payments industry.

Based primarily in London, and also Luxembourg, Wright will report to Jakob Baekkel and Jonathan Levine, co-heads of institutional banking at Banking Circle.

During his career, Wright has gained experience within the corporate asset management space at Goldman Sachs, HSBC, and Schroders.

At Goldman Sachs, Wright was a senior associate in the asset management division, charged with front/middle office business operations on the offshore GS liquidity fund.

Commenting on his appointment, Wright says: “I'm very excited to be a part of the institutional payments revolution, where financial inclusion and razor-sharp banking infrastructure appetite continue to be at the forefront of the fintech industry.”

“Leveraging the firm’s unique proprietary backend technology, along with a strong network of partner banks, I’m really looking forward to adding value to a highly progressive and respected business in Banking Circle,” Wright adds.
