Colin Brooks has been appointed as chairman of Hex Trust’s advisory board, after joining the board in July last year.
Brooks continues to bring more than 30 years of experience, knowledge and connections building institutional custody and securities businesses.
Previously he has worked as HSBC’s head of custody and clearing for seven years, heading up a global business that covered over 50 markets across six continents.
At HSBC, Brooks was responsible for building the bank’s custody business from a small team to a large sub-custodian in Asia.
He has also worked in a number of securities industry roles, including as a member of SWIFT’s securities council and its Asia Pacific Advisory Group, as well as a board member of the International Securities Services Association.
Hex Trust, a provider of bank-grade custody for digital assets, says that with Rajah Thiyagarajah as Hex Trust’s chairman of the board of directors, and Colin Brooks as chairman of the advisory board, it further strengthens “the credibility and importance of the digital asset custodian in the banking sector’s adoption of digital assets”.
Alessio Quaglini, CEO Hex Trust, comments: “Colin Brooks has been instrumental for the development of our institutional custody offering. We are now at an inflexion point where every major financial institution is in the process of defining or implementing its digital asset strategy. Brooks’ contribution going forward will be critical to position Hex Trust as the Asia-based leader in the space.”
