Guernsey Finance has appointed Jo Kitcat as UK representative, resuming the agency’s permanent presence in London, in addition to representatives in Hong Kong and South Africa.

In his new role, Kitcat will primarily be responsible for promoting awareness of Guernsey’s financial offerings through education of the island’s financial services, as well as connecting London professionals with Guernsey practitioners.

Kitcat will also expand Guernsey’s various activities in the City of London and throughout the UK to locate opportunities for financial services businesses and market Guernsey as a jurisdiction for investment funds, private wealth and insurance.

Having most recently served as managing director at BNY Mellon in London, Kitcat has extensive experience in business development roles, particularly with global financial institutions from an asset management perspective in the UK, Switzerland, US and Asia.

Commenting on his new role, Kitcat says: “I am very excited to become part of the We Are Guernsey team and look forward to representing the agency in the UK. Guernsey is quite clearly a leading financial centre and I am delighted to be involved in helping to continue building relationships.”

Rupert Pleasant, chief executive at We Are Guernsey, explains: “We always had plans to fill this role again, but with so much taking place online during the pandemic, it made sense to wait until life was beginning to get back to normal so that we could fully utilise the face-to-face element of business development, so now is the right time.”

“Jo has great experience in business development across several markets and we look forward to his contribution sharing the story of Guernsey’s world-class financial services industry, particularly in a key market such as London.”
