Apex Group has appointed John Davis as managing director for Singapore.
Reporting to Valerie Mantot-Groene, regional managing director for Asia Pacific (APAC), Davis will be responsible for driving the firm’s continued growth and performance in the APAC region.
Davis brings more than 13 years of experience in the fund services industry, as a member of the executive committee of the Singapore Fund Administrators Association (SFAA) and most recently as managing director, Singapore at Mainstream Group.
Davis joined Mainstream Fund Services as a graduate and held a variety of fund services roles including portfolio valuation, unit pricing and performance measurement.
Davis’ appointment follows the acquisition of Mainstream by Apex Group in October 2021.
The acquisition strengthened Apex’s global presence with the addition of more than 360 employees at Mainstream’s New South Wales headquarters, as well as its offices located in Singapore, Hong Kong, United States, Isle of Man, Malta, Ireland and the Cayman Islands.
Commenting on his new role, Davis says: “The future looks bright for Singapore as it continues to innovate with new fund structures and grow its reputation as a global hub for international asset managers. I look forward to leading Apex’s presence in Singapore as the domicile’s popularity amongst funds continues to go from strength to strength.”
Mantot-Groene comments: “We are delighted to welcome John to Apex to lead and grow our Singapore presence. As we continue to integrate the acquisition of Mainstream in 2022, John will play a crucial role in helping to continually enhance our single-source model, whilst maintaining the highest levels of client service in the region.”
