Eventus Systems has appointed Nick Wallis as managing director for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, based in London and reporting to global head of sales, Scott Schroeder.

The appointment is in line with Eventus’ continued expansion in EMEA, with plans to further consolidate the region’s sales, account management and support over the next few months.

Eventus, a provider of multi-asset class trade surveillance and market risk solutions, will benefit from Wallis’ comprehensive experience in markets, surveillance and sales as he leads the firm’s growing sales team in EMEA.

Wallis previously served in the markets and technology businesses at Nasdaq, most recently as ??
head of surveillance sales and account management for EMEA, where he was responsible for the retention and growth of Nasdaq's trade surveillance business in the region, as well as management of the EMEA team.

Before this, he held the position of senior director, market technology, where he managed the EMEA trade surveillance sales organisation and several other global key accounts.

Commenting on the appointment, Schroeder says: “Nick is an outstanding addition to our team as he brings a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory challenges our clients and prospects face in the UK, EU, Middle East and other jurisdictions, as well as great technical knowledge of the surveillance space.

“He is a strong leader and proven sales professional, and we are excited to have him build out our sales force of experienced market practitioners.”

Wallis adds: “The role of the compliance officer has never been more demanding, with new markets, new asset classes and complex data challenges. I believe Eventus is well-positioned to attract new clients with its next-generation technology, machine learning and deeply experienced staff.”
