Apex Group has hired former Financial Conduct Authority supervisor Aneeqa Zamal as compliance executive within its Global Compliance Solutions business.

Initially based in Apex’s London offices and supporting global clients, Zamal will report to Hari Bhambra, global head of compliance solutions.

The Global Compliance Solutions business offers a global network of compliance experts, supporting clients to meet their operational and regulatory obligations across international financial hubs.

Zamal will be responsible for advising and guiding clients through UK and cross-jurisdictional compliance matters, licensing and fund applications.

She brings an extensive understanding of regulated financial services — having joined Apex from the pooled supervision team of the UK financial services regulator, the FCA — and experience of the new Investment Firm Prudential Regime’s internal capital and risk assessment process for investment firms.

Following the news, Apex has announced its acquisition of SandsPoint Capital Advisors, a US professional services firm to the real estate market.

SandsPoint’s real estate clients will benefit from Apex Group’s global, cross-jurisdictional reach and range of additional services including digital banking and environmental, social and governance ratings and advisory.

The addition of the SandsPoint business deepens Apex's existing real estate service offering in the US and will add assets under administration of more than US$30 billion.
