Citibank names Aditya Sharma as head of custody

Citibank (Citi) has appointed Aditya Sharma as Asia head of custody, based in Singapore.
A veteran at Citi, Sharma has served the company for more than 19 years, most recently as head of securities for South Asia.
Prior to this, he was head of the India FCX business, head of sales management for The Depository Trust Company (DCC), and head of product and sales management for DCC, amongst other roles.
In a memo announcing Sharma’s appointment, Matthew Bax, global head of direct custody and clearing, and David Russell, head of markets and securities services, say: “Over the years, Aditya has been instrumental in launching listed derivative products and driving various capital market advocacy initiatives around settlement compression, collateral optimisation, ease of market access for foreign investors, interoperability and algorithmic trading.
