Paul Hedges joins BNY Mellon network management

BNY Mellon has appointed Paul Hedges as lead specialist within its global network management team.

With more than 35 years’ experience in financial services, Hedges has extensive knowledge of securities, mutual funds, trading, private banking operations, agent bank network management and business relationship management.

Before moving to BNY Mellon, Hedges was a consultant and founder of PDH Consult.

Prior to that, he was head of network management and market intelligence for APAC at HSBC, based in Singapore, where he served for nine years from September 2010.

Hedges has also served as regional head and consultant at the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.

From August 2006 to November 2008, Hedges was regional head of APAC sub-custody at J.P. Morgan.

Earlier in his career, Hedges was global head of securities services at Standard Chartered, located in Singapore, from 2001 until 2006.

He also worked for seven years at the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), serving as Royal Trust’s global head of its agent bank network and director of global custody risk management.

In addition, Hedges is one of the founding members of TSSAG — the Securities Services Advisory Group.

Commenting on his new appointment, Hedges told Asset Servicing Times: “I am so happy I can continue to contribute to the industry through BNY Mellon.”
