Digital asset custodian Standard Custody & Trust (Standard Custody) has appointed Matthew Homer to its board of directors.

The board aims to expand Standard Custody’s institutional digital asset infrastructure, and includes industry leaders from traditional and decentralised finance.

Homer is an investor and advisor for companies in the digital asset and cryptocurrency space, working with firms including Gemini, FS Vector, and Nyca Partners. He was the first executive deputy superintendent for the research and innovation division at the New York Department of Financial Services, and has also served in various roles across the federal government.

Commenting on his appointment, Homer says: “Integrity and trust are needed today more than ever for the crypto ecosystem to move forward and become an enduring part of the financial services industry. What [Standard Custody] has built enables institutions to participate in the digital assets space with confidence. I look forward to working with the team to support this important mission.”

Jack McDonald, CEO, adds: “Matt brings invaluable leadership experience in the fintech and cryptocurrency sectors spanning investment, regulatory and policy advocacy roles. Having Matt join Standard Custody’s board will provide us with a vast range of expertise to draw from as we continue to grow the business.”
