Nadine Chakar leaves State Street

Nadine Chakar has left State Street, after nearly four years with the company.

Chakar joined State Street in a senior role as head of global markets in 2019, before becoming global head of digital assets in September 2021.

With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, Chakar has spent much of her career at BNY Mellon.

From 1989 to 1999 she was the bank’s first vice president of sales and marketing for asset servicing. She later returned to BNY Mellon for an eight-year tenure. She left the company in 2015, as global head of eCommerce, strategy and research and financial market infrastructure.

Chakar has held other senior roles at Manulife Investment Management and ABN AMRO Mellon.

A spokesperson for State Street told Asset Servicing Times: “Nadine has been a great champion of our digital strategy, which we see as an integral component of our overall strategy landscape, and we wish her well in her next endeavor.

We will be conducting a search for Nadine’s replacement and in the meantime she will continue to work with our digital team over the next several months.Martine Bond, head of global markets EMEA and head of GlobalLink, has assumed Nadine’s role on an interim basis.”
