Julian Sawyer has replaced Maxime de Guillebon as CEO of Zodia Custody, the crypto custodian backed by Standard Chartered and Northern Trust.

Bringing more than thirty years of experience to the role, Sawyer has held a number of senior positions throughout his career. He is currently an honourary senior visiting fellow at Cass Business School, and recently served as advisor to the board of Australian neobank Volt Bank.

Sawyer moved into the crypto industry in 2019, when he became managing director for Europe at digital asset exchange and custodian Gemini. In 2020, he was appointed CEO of crypto exchange Bitstamp.

Commenting on his appointment via LinkedIn, Sawyer says: “[Zodia] prides itself on being one of the leading institutional crypto custodians. I am looking forward to working with the talented team at Zodia to drive the business forward.”
