Joseph Pinto to head M&G Asset Management

M&G has appointed Joseph Pinto as CEO of its asset management business, effective March 2023. He will report to Andrea Rossi, chief executive of the group.

In the role, Pinto will be responsible for the investment strategies of all asset classes and the distribution, operations and proposition management of the business.

Pinto has 30 years of experience in the asset management industry, and joins M&G from Natixis Investment Managers (NIM). He is currently head of distribution for EMEA, APAC and LATAM and global chief operating officer at the company.

Prior to this Pinto spent more than 13 years at AXA Investment Managers, where he held a number of senior roles.

Commenting on his appointment, Pinto says: “The breadth of M&G’s active asset management capabilities combined with its strong balance sheet has long provided innovative solutions for clients. I look forward to leading their investment teams to drive M&G’s international growth and sustainability agenda, while providing excellent outcomes for clients.”

Rossi adds: “Joseph brings a profound understanding of client needs and how they have evolved through changing economic conditions. He has a strong record of delivering on strategic ambitions in investment management, and I am confident his commercial vision and pragmatic leadership will help transform how M&G delivers value to its clients and other stakeholders.”
