Irish Funds has appointed Brian McCabe as director of data and insights.

McCabe has more than 25 years of experience in the funds industry, working within operations, product, innovation and commercialisation. He began his career at State Street as a portfolio administrator, becoming head of operations before moving to HSBC as head of business operations in 2010.

He was named head of HSBC Securities Services for Ireland and Guernsey in 2012, and returned to State Street 2015. Most recently, he was global client chief operating officer at the company.

Commenting on his appointment, McCabe says: I’m honoured to take up this exciting opportunity and look forward to working with the team and the membership to build on the great work Irish Funds has been doing for many years.

Pat Lardner, CEO of Irish Funds, adds: “Our industry and our association has grown and developed rapidly in the last decade, thanks to the support of our members, external stakeholders and a great team. Trust, capability and innovation are core to the achievement of our mission.

“Brian brings with him decades of industry experience, combined with a proven track record of delivering innovation and solutions. I look forward to working with him to further develop our capabilities and provide the best support for our member firms and the industry at large.”
