IQ-EQ has appointed Matthew Abbott to the newly created role of global head of sales operations.

Abbott’s appointment is part of IQ-EQ’s wider effort to expand its commercial leadership team.

Based in London, Abbott will be responsible for IQ-EQ’s global sales and retention efforts, ensuring sales productivity. He will report to Emma Crabtree, group chief commercial officer.

Abbott has more than 20 years’ industry experience, spanning investor and asset servicing.

Prior to joining IQ-EQ, Abbott was director and global head of sales and client enablement for HSBC Securities Services, where he was tasked with delivering management support and sales optimisation initiatives.

Abbott has also held director-level positions with RBC Wealth Management International and RBC Investor & Treasury Services.

Commenting on Abbott’s appointment, Crabtree says: “Matthew will fulfil a critical role as we focus on expanding our commercial leadership team. He has the experience and analytical mindset we need to promote IQ-EQ’s commercial excellence as the Group benefits from an exciting period of global growth.

“Together, we will build on IQ-EQ’s client service delivery and our proactive business intelligence capabilities.”
