Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has appointed Valeria Dal Corso as CEO and country head of its Italy division.
Pending regulatory and corporate approval, Dal Corso will assume the roles from 3 July 2023. She will work alongside David Abitbol, chairman of the board of directors and head of the company, and Alessandro Gumier, chief country officer and head of global banking and investor solutions in Italy.
She replaces Roberto Pecora, who was recently appointed CEO of Euronext Clearing.
Dal Corso has three decades of experience in the industry, and has spent more than 17 years with SGSS. She currently serves as deputy general manager and chief operation officer, before which she was global head of custody and issuer services.
Earlier in her career, Dal Corso was head of securities operations at banking firm UniCredit.
Commenting on the appointment, Abitbol says: “Valeria’s 30 years’ experience in the industry, together with her in-depth knowledge of our business, operations and IT, will be key assets to ensure continuity and further develop SGSS in Italy. I would like to warmly thank Roberto for his strong contribution during more than 20 years within Societe Generale group and, more recently, SGSS.”
Gumier adds: “Valeria’s achievements in recent years and her strong managerial skills that we all value, will be a major asset for SGSS and Societe Generale as a whole.”
