Northern Trust has appointed Caroline Higgins as head of global fund services (GFS) for APAC, effective 1 October. She will report to Toby Glaysher, president of GFS.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Higgins’ new role will focus on the expansion of the firm’s regional products and services for asset managers.

Higgins joined Northern Trust in 2016 as head of GFS for Asia, before becoming head of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.

Prior to this, Higgins was head of transfer agency for Asia at Brown Brothers Harriman, and held tenures at firms including State Street, RBC Global Services and Citibank.

Commenting on the appointment, Glaysher says: “We see continued growth and increasing opportunity to offer our solutions to clients in APAC. Caroline’s industry expertise, capabilities and experience working at Northern Trust across Asia, both focused on the region’s leading asset managers and Northern Trust’s global clients, will ensure we are well placed to continue to support their evolving needs.”
