Citi has welcomed Jaewon Hwang as head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) for Korea, where he will be responsible for driving the expansion of the CCB business in the region.

The company says Hwang, in his new position, will be instrumental to overseeing business operations in Korea as well as driving financial performance and strengthening key client relationships.

Having joined Citi Korea in 2001, Hwang has since accumulated over 23 years of corporate banking experience. He has served in a number of leadership roles, both in the region and globally, including business development officer at middle markets group in Los Angeles and head of Korea desk for North America.

Commenting on Hwang's appointment, Gunjan Kalra, APAC commercial bank head at Citi, states: "Through Citi’s global network and strong knowledge of local markets, we are well placed to support fast growing Korean mid-sized corporates with their global and regional aspirations. I am confident that under Jaewon’s leadership, our business will continue to gain momentum.”
