Christie Chang is set to become the new CEO and chairman of Citibank Taiwan, following the current CEO and chairman Aftab Ahmed’s retirement.

Commencing her role from 1 April, Chang will be expected to oversee Citi’s operations in the region, with an emphasis on driving growth and strengthening the bank’s market presence. She brings over 35 years of experience at the firm, where she currently serves as president of Citibank Taiwan and vice chair of Asia North Corporate Banking.

Marc Luet, head of Japan, Asia North and Australia, and Banking at Broadridge, says: “With [Chang’s] depth and breadth of experience in the Taiwan banking industry and with her long-established relationships with our institutional clients, Christie is well placed to lead Citi Taiwan to be our clients’ preeminent banking partner.”

On Ahmed’s departure, he adds: “I would like to thank Aftab for his incredible contributions to Citi and for dedicating his career to growing our franchise across the world. His retirement marks the culmination of a distinguished and illustrious five-decade career with Citi.”
