BNY Mellon has appointed Michael Chan as Asia-Pacific head of asset servicing. He was previously managing director and head of sales and business development for BNY Mellon’s asset servicing business in Asia.

Chan will continue to be based in Singapore and will report to Samir Pandiri, CEO of asset servicing, based in the US. Chan will remain on BNY Mellon’s Asia-Pacific operating committee and join the firm’s Asia-Pacific executive committee.

Pandiri said: "We are committed to continuing to invest and grow our asset servicing business in Asia which today is one of the fastest growing businesses in the company."

"We have a strong and experienced local team whose expertise and dedication has led to BNY Mellon receiving many industry honors in recent years. Accordingly, we firmly believe we embody the qualities, and have the solutions, which will continue to help our clients to manage risk in the global markets and achieve their growth ambitions."

Steve Lackey, Asia-Pacific chairman, added: "With a wealth of asset servicing experience in the Asia-Pacific region in sales, client servicing and operations, Chan and his team in the region are ideally placed to ensure we continue to support the future growth of our clients' businesses and steer our asset servicing business to the next level in Asia-Pacific."
