SmartStream Technologies is expanding into the greater China region by hiring Steve Murphy as country manager of Hong Kong.
Murphy has been working for SmartStream in Singapore as a strategic accounts director, Hong Kong, for the past 12 months. Prior to this role, he held senior sales management positions with several financial solutions providers across Asia and Europe.
Murphy said: “I am very pleased to be returning to Hong Kong and excited to be tasked with the ongoing development and expansion of SmartStream’s business here. Due to the depth and diversity of Hong Kong’s financial markets, SmartStream recognises the importance of having a full time presence to support our established clients and this is the first step towards building a bigger team.”
The Hong Kong office expansion is part of SmartStream’s wider growth plans across the Asia Pacific region. In addition to Hong Kong SmartStream has established sales and support operations in Beijing, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. The company has also recently appointed Joseph Kubeyka as regional director of APAC, and is actively recruiting in a number of locations.
