BDO makes financial services appointments

BDO LLP has hired Mark Hunt as head of its financial services practice and Leigh Wormald as partner.
Wormald is the first of eight new partners expected to join the financial services team over the next year.
Hunt has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, 20 of which were spent at KPMG as partner. He advised regulatory firms and gained experience in investigation and assurance services.
Hunt also works as a senior forensic and dispute advisory partners at BDO.
Wormald is experienced in auditing and has more than 17 years of experience advising local and international banks, private equity firms, hedge funds, exchange-traded funds and stock brokers.
She served as a banking partner at KPMG in South Africa and led the bank and investment funds audit team at Mazars LLP.
Commenting on her new role, Wormald said: “BDO provides the best possible environment for me to provide my clients with advice to help them achieve their objectives. I relish the opportunity to be part of the next phase of BDO’s development.”
Hunt also commented on his appointment: “We have ambitious plans to continue to grow the FS team by over 30 percent over the next 12 months. I am looking forward to leading the financial services practice at this particularly challenging time for the sector.”
