SGSS has set up a new Amsterdam-based team for developing business in the Netherlands and the Nordics, and has hired two ex-State Street employees to run it.
Roel van de Wiel is the new commercial director. He joins from State Street Sector Solutions, where he was responsible for business development in the Netherlands, the Nordics and Belgium.
At SGSS he is responsible for enhancing and developing the business in the region, across all client segments.
Bastiaan Aalders is head of business development for the Netherlands and the Nordics, responsible for developing and implementing business and client solutions for the region.
Previously, he was regional head of asset owner products for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at State Street Global Services.
Both will report to Mathieu Maurier, global head of sales and relationship management at SGSS.
“These appointments are important milestones in SGSS’ development plans in Europe,” said Maurier.
“They will allow SGSS to strengthen its coverage in the region, where the Societe Generale group is already present, by offering clients its whole range of services, in particular the externalisation of non-core activities linked to regulatory requirements.”
