Corinne Riguzzi has been elected by SIX’s board of directors as the new head of SIX Exchange Regulation, from 1 January 2017.
Riguzzi has been the head of surveillance and enforcement since August 2012, as well as the deputy head of SIX Exchange Regulation since mid-2013.
She succeeds Rodolfo Straub, who ran the department since its inception in 2009, but is now retiring.
According to SIX, from January 2017, Straub will continue to work with SIX with a reduced workload, providing assistance with projects.
In a statement on the appointment, SIX said: “Riguzzi is not only familiar with the duties and processes associated with surveillance, but also with the various duties associated with the entire spectrum of self-regulation and the related bodies.”
Alexandre Zeller, chairman of the board of directors of SIX, commented: “In Corinne Riguzzi, we are gaining a management expert with an extraordinary amount of experience in the area of exchange regulation and a very strong international network.”
“I am also pleased that an internal candidate was able to successfully prove herself during the recruitment process for this central role.”
“At the same time, I would like to sincerely thank Rodolfo Straub for his enormous commitment. He has made a substantial contribution to professionalism and to the credible entrenchment of self-regulation in securities exchange law.”
