Investment management solution provider SimCorp has appointed Oliver Johnson as its new manging director for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Based in Singapore, Johnson will be responsible for management, operations, sales and distribution, and for improving client relationships and driving business growth for SimCorp’s solution throughout APAC.

He will report to Jochen Müller, executive vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific

Johnson joins from eFront Singapore, where he spent 12 years working in London, Dubai, Australia and Singapore. Most recently, he was manging director for APAC operations.

Müller said: “I am delighted to welcome someone of Oliver Johnson’s calibre to the SimCorp Asia team. [His] wealth of experience in the industry will help us maintain our high quality of client service and attract new clients as we continue to invest in the region as part of our Vision 2020 goal. Oliver Johnson and his team represent our ongoing, long-term commitment to the APAC region.”

Johnson added: “SimCorp’s depth of experience in APAC and the quality of its talent are well-known in the financial services industry and was one of the key attractions for me to join the team. The average tenure of SimCorp’s team in APAC far exceeds the industry average and demonstrates the company’s dedication to providing clients with not only the best people, but also the continuity of a long-term vision.”

In his new role, Johnson replaces Nick Quin, who left SimCorp to return to New Zealand at the beginning of the year, after more than 13 years at the company.
