Roman Regelman joins BNY Mellon

BNY Mellon has appointed Roman Regelman to a new role as senior executive vice president and head of digital, effective September 17, 2018.

In this position, Regelman will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the firm’s digital future and investing in client and internal digital capabilities, including data management, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics.

He will also build a new global team across the company, developing and attracting digital talent.

Regelman will report to Charles Scharf, BNY Mellon’s chairman and CEO, and will join the firm’s executive committee.

Regelman brings more than 25 years of experience in digital, operations and management consulting and launched several financial technology.

Most recently, Regelman was a partner and managing director at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he co-led its financial institutions digital business.

Prior to BCG, he drove Booz and Company’s transformation business in financial services.

Regelman is also a frequent author and commentator on financial services industry trends.

Scharf said: “BNY Mellon is looking at new ways to provide services to our clients and drive dramatically improved quality and efficiency. Roman is a digital transformation expert who will enable us to be bolder in our approach and more consistently find better solutions for our clients.”

He added: “Regelman is passionate about finding new ways of working, and his deep knowledge of the financial services space will help us accelerate our growth.”
