BTIG hires Joe Passaro

BTIG has hired Joe Passaro as a managing director and head of capital markets.

Based in New York, Passaro will report to Matt Clark, head of BTIG investment banking.

Passaro will be responsible for originating transactions, structuring offerings, and improving valuations for corporations while growing BTIG’s coverage of financial sponsor, private equity and venture capital clients.

Prior to BTIG, he served at Deutsche Bank Securities for 12 years in a variety of senior roles across the equity capital markets and global equity trading units. He was most recently co-head of equity capital markets syndicate, Americas.

Scott Kovalik, co-founder and CEO of BTIG, said: “We are pleased to welcome Joe Passaro to BTIG’s leadership team. His extensive knowledge of the financial sponsor universe, deep relationships with institutional investors and the ability to assist clients in executing complex trades and transactions will be extremely valuable as we continue to expand our capital markets capabilities.”

Steven Starker, co-founder of BTIG, commented: “Passaro is a strong addition to our investment banking and capital markets unit. We believe that he will propel growth across this important business. As we continue to build out a market-leading platform, he will play a key role in helping to drive solid financial outcomes for clients.”
