IQ-EQ boosts APAC presence with two acquisitions

IQ-EQ has acquired ComplianceAsia and Lymon as it continues to expand its independent regulatory compliance business globally.

Following the acquisitions, IQ-EQ will have 101 full-time employees across the APAC region to serve its international clients, including asset managers, hedge fund managers and broker-dealers.

Yishan Lee, founder and managing director of Lymon, now assumes the role of managing director for regulatory compliance in Singapore at IQ-EQ. Phillipa Allen, co-founder and CEO of ComplianceAsia is now managing director and head of regulatory compliance for Asia at IQ-EQ. Alex Duperouzel, managing director of ComplianceAsia, will leave the company after a transition period.

Commenting on the acquisitions, Michael Marquardt, regional CEO for Asia at IQ-EQ, says: “These transactions not only significantly expand our existing regulatory compliance business in APAC, a key strategic growth region for our business, but make IQ-EQ the leading independent regulatory compliance provider in the region and a leading provider globally. Together we can offer our clients an unparalleled range of services, expertise and ease of access to new markets, and we believe that the potential opportunities for us, our newly combined businesses and our clients are significant.”

Allen adds: “Joining the IQ-EQ team takes us from being the leading regulatory compliance provider in the APAC region to being the leading provider globally. The opportunities that lie ahead are immense not just for us commercially but for our clients and the ComplianceAsia team who now join a people-focused business dedicated to delivering client service excellence.”
