Citi bolsters APAC team

Citi has appointed David Brown as Asia Pacific (APAC) head of client executive and account management for custody and fund services, based in Hong Kong.

In his new role, Brown has responsibility for client executive and account management teams across the region.

He will report to David Russell, APAC head of securities services and Hong Kong head of markets, and Irimga McKay, global head of client executives and account management for custody and fund services.

Most recently, Brown served as the Australia head of client executive and account management at Citi. He began this role in 2020 before moving to Hong Kong in early 2021 to take on his new role.

Prior to joining Citi, Brown spent 23 years at J.P. Morgan and two years at the Royal Bank of Canada where he held senior positions in sales, operations, relationship management and client service.

“David Brown has over 30 years of experience across multiple functions within the custody and fund administration business. His appointment is another example of our continued focus and investment in our securities services business which remains a core priority for Citi,” comments Russel.

Last week Citi announced that it had been appointed as the custodian for the launch of Mirae Asset Global Investments’ (Hong Kong) two open-ended fund exchange-traded funds.
