HSBC Securities Services appoints Rafael Moral

HSBC Securities Services has appointed Rafael Moral as regional head of Asia-Pacific and MENAT.

Moral will begin his new role in August and will be based in Hong Kong.

He will report to Richard Godfrey, global co-head of Securities Services and co-head of securities financing at HSBC.

Currently, Moral is based in London and is head of strategy for markets and Securities Services.

He has held various other senior roles at HSBC including head of Securities Services, Europe.

Before joining HSBC in 2015, Moral spent 13 years at Deutsche Bank where he held a variety of senior roles, including global head of investor services and regional head of Asia Pacific for group strategy and planning.

Moral steps into his role following the retirement from banking of Brian Godins, previously Head of APAC & MENAT for HSBC Securities Services. Godins had held a number of senior positions at HSBC during his 14-year term with the bank.
