UniCredit joins Spectrum Markets

UniCredit Bank has joined securitised derivatives trading venue Spectrum Markets, allowing it to reach a broader customer base through the pan-European platform’s third-party financial services firm network.

The bank will begin by listing constant leverage warrants and covered warrant products for retail investors across the continent, with plans to offer short-term, leveraged and longer-term investment products in the future. Underlyings will include US and European, particulate German, equities and indices.

Spectrum Markets has increased its capacity by more than 400 per cent in order to process increased order flow and quote data volumes.

Nicky Maan, CEO of Spectrum Markets, says: “UniCredit’s vision for its business going forward is very closely aligned with our own, in terms of providing innovative solutions for retail investors, harmonising pan-European trading and making new markets and services more widely accessible.

A key focus for us right now is rounding out the suite of securitised derivatives listed on Spectrum, with a particular emphasis on the most in-demand products and underlyings. UniCredit joining us as a member marks an important next step in that ambition.”

Marco Formaggio, head of equity and brokerage sales at UniCredit, comments: “As retail investors increase in both number and sophistication, it is important that we stay agile around their needs — developing investment solutions that enable them to take varied exposures over different time horizons. Our partnership with Spectrum Markets is the next step in this journey.”
