Société Générale has appointed Laura Berthout as head of payments for the SG network in France. Assuming the role in mid-July, she will also be a member of the SG executive committee.
Berthout will have responsibility for the bank’s strategic projects around payments in Europe, along with supporting the company’s payments-related operations.
With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, Berthout currently serves as director of Société Générale’s payments division for Africa, a department she also founded. Before this, she was a senior consultant at both AfricInvest Group and Tunisie Valeurs.
Earlier in her career, Berthout held a number of senior roles at Société Générale including managing director and head of energy and environment coverage in France.
