GSR picks PolySign’s Standard Custody for settlement and escrow services

Digital asset liquidity provider GSR Markets Limited (GSR) has selected New York-based Standard Custody & Trust Company (Standard Custody) to support its settlement and escrow services.

As a qualified custodian, Standard Custody safeguards client assets by housing a secure integrated escrow trading platform which enables investors to buy and sell digital assets directly from custody.

The solution reduces counterparty risk by separating collateral from trading partners, placing it in escrow with a regulated qualified custodian, while also enabling instant and secure settlement of digital assets.

Standard Custody is a subsidiary of PolySign, a financial technology company providing institutional investors with blockchain-enabled infrastructure.

Established in 2013, GSR provides liquidity, trading and risk management solutions.

Jack McDonald, CEO of Standard Custody, says: “Standard Custody is pleased to be offering solutions that reduce risk. By collaborating with an industry leader like GSR, clients can confidently access liquidity with a leading provider while significantly reducing credit and settlement risk.”

Rich Rosenblum, co-founder and president of GSR, says: “We believe this relationship with Standard Custody will be a crucial step in the settlement and mitigation of counterparty credit exposure, further elevating standards for reliability and efficiency, and restoring market confidence. This type of innovation secures the existing marketplace while encouraging further institutional adoption in the space.”
