Sibos: Emerging Payments Association expands to Asia

The Emerging Payments Association (EPA) has launched in Asia, marking the open at Sibos in Sydney.

The EPA, which was founded in 2004, has over 130 corporate members in Europe and Africa, working to strengthen and expand the payments industry by connecting the ecosystem, encouraging innovation and profitable business growth.

The opening of its Asia presence took place in the Sibos conference exhibition area by John Ryan, director general of EPA Asia, Tony Craddock, director general EPA UK and Vikesh Pate, managing direct at SWIFT.

According to EPA, the “future is very bright for emerging payments technology across the Asian marketplace”.

EPA Asia is focused on a broad agenda to tackle the challenges of technology and cross-border coordination.

In order to find out the priorities in emerging payments, EPA Asia along with EPA UK is conducting a global market survey. The survey will provide a platform for all stakeholders to express views and establish an agenda for EPA Asia moving forward.

Ryan commented: "Interest in joining EPA Asia has been high with existing EPA UK members as well as non-member firms."
